M1T 8L0, The Men Machine

Ode to manual work, to the craftsman and his repetitive work. It is the collage of the assembler which highlights the process, the tool, the residual industrial artifact rather than the manufactured object itself. It is a magnification of the raw material nobly treated. 180 raw brass units were polished by hand on sandpaper. As a result, the material of the manufactured object is impregnated in its manufacturing process and becomes glorified. These sandpapers, which would normally have been thrown away, have found a second life.
